Dark Horse Books is located in a mountain valley surrounded by the beautiful Big Hole, Palisades, and Teton Mountains. It is a small community composed of an eclectic and fascinating mix of individuals; All whom share a love and deep appreciation for the natural beauty of the area. Peter and Jeanne Anderson started the bookstore in December 1995 as a two year experiment. It quickly became the cultural hub of the community. After fourteen years as bookstore proprietors, Peter and Jeanne passed the torch to the new owner, Phyllis Lamken. Phyllis is a life long reader and she has a passionate love for all things book related. She hopes to continue their fine tradition of serving the readers and writers of the community.
